We are often asked about the difference between Chrome & Nickel – generally Chrome as a blue hue to it (similar to the colour of taps) which gives it a slightly harder, cooler tone, whereas Nickel has a more silvery hue which tends to give it a softer, warmer tone.
Some of the door knobs are available in both a Polished or Satin finish and some have an Aged or Antique finish.
Many of the door knobs we supply are made from solid brass, so are heavy, and are usually ‘Unsprung’. This means you will need a Heavy Sprung lock or latch to bring the door knob back to the closed position.
Our door knobs come in pairs (only Centre Pulls and Cupboard Knobs are sold individually), but if you do need a single door knob to be used as a pull, or would like a mix of two finishes – for example for a bathroom where you need a nickel or chrome finish for inside and brass on the outside, please contact us. Some of the products are able to be made as half sets or mixed finish sets.
