This Black, Bronze or Pewter Round Covered Escutcheon is a simple and plain design that will match with many styles of door furniture. It is available in 3 finishes - Dull Black, Oil Rubbed Bronze and Antique Pewter.
It is designed to cover the hole made in the door to receive the key for a mortice lock. The added benefit of the cover means that not only does it improve the look but it also helps to keep out draughts and debris too.
There is also a wide range of door, window and cabinet furniture available in these finishes so that you can create a complete look around your home. Please see images below for finish descriptions.
Dull Black - cast from malleable iron, it has a protective undercoat applied before the final coating of black paint. A traditional dip process is used thereafter, to aid the dull black appearance.
Pewter Bronze - cast from solid bronze, each item is passed through a series of hand applied chemical processes to help achieve this natural patina. As this is a hand applied finish it is usual for there to be slight differences in the finish between products and batches.
Oil Rubbed Bronze - cast from solid bronze, chemical processes are applied by hand to achieve the natural patina. The finish is completed with a thin coating of beeswax. With time and use the original colour of the bronze will slowly age, giving each piece its own natural uniqueness. As with the Antique Pewter, it is usual for there to be variation in the finish between products and batches.
We do recommend that from time to time you wipe with a beeswax or lightly oiled cloth.
Supplied with matching fixings. The screws supplied are hand finished, so please take care when fixing. Always use a pilot drill.
