The Davenport Solid Brass Rim Lock is truly a lovely, classic period piece. Both the external design and the internal locking mechanism have been based on a Victorian original. Cast in solid brass, each lock is hand finished and supplied with 2 solid brass ornate keys.
The brass is not lacquered and has been hand aged which would normally be left to continue ageing in the traditional manner.
The Davenport Solid Brass Rim Lock operates with a single lever mechanism, so is suitable for internal doors only. It is a very simple locking mechanism and each of the 6 key profiles are hand finished to ensure that they work in the lock casting. If you wish to use it on an external door, you will also need to fit a suitable security lock. This could be a 5 Lever Mortice Deadlock or a high security night latch.
Door Knobs are not supplied, images are for illustration purposes only.
Supplied with matching fixings. Always make a small pilot drill hole and use a manual screw driver to avoid damaging screws and finish.
