This Aged Bronze Doctors Knocker is based on a very traditional period design and has smooth, elegant lines. It is cast from high quality bronze, before being hand aged and will provide a lovely feature for many front doors and entrances. It is said that this type of door knocker was so named as it used to be used to identify a doctor's house in times gone by!
Aged Bronze - this finish is manufactured from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. The process used to age the metal results in a very dark, rich, matt appearance. During the final stages of manufacture a durable, matt lacquer is applied to help preserve the distinctive tones
Please do not use any metal polish or other cleaning chemicals on this finish as it will affect the lacquer and finish. Wiping with an oily cloth after installation and from time to time will aid protection against exterior and environmental elements.
Due to the matt lacquer coating this finish isn’t suitable for high traffic areas or coastal locations.
The Aged Bronze Doctors Knocker is attached to a small fixing plate which makes this ideal for doors that have a narrow centre stile.
Supplied with 70mm Threaded Bolt and Dome Head Caps.
