The Cromwell Cast Iron Rim Latch is traditional dual handed thumb latch. Made from cast iron with brass detailing, each latch is hand finished.
Door Knob not supplied, for ilustration purposes only.
The cast iron is not lacquered, it is supplied with an initial protective coating of oil and would normally be left to age in the traditional manner. We recommend that the Cromwell Cast Iron Rim Latch is wiped from time-to-time with a lightly oiled cloth to keep it in great condition. Should little rust spots appear, gently remove with 00 grade fine wire wool and then apply a thin coating of oil with a rag or brush
The Cromwell Cast Iron Rim Latch allows the room to be locked from one side only, ideal for bathrooms and bedrooms where privacy is required. Supplied with an optional Emergency Release fitting, this allows access from outside of the room. If using the Emergency Release fitting we recommend matching the Cromwell Cast Iron Rim Latch with the Small Cottage knobs. This is so that your hand doesn't interfere or catch on the emergency release fitment when opening and closing the door.
Supplied with matching fixings. Always make a small pilot drill hole and use a manual screw driver to avoid damaging screws and finish.
