A lovely example of a simple Georgian Iron Letter Plate with an elegant Rope Edge detail. Although the letter plate is modelled on a traditional Georgian Front Door Furniture style, this letter plate will suit a wide variety of properties including country homes and cottages.
The letter plate is well proportioned and comes in two sizes, Small and Medium. Original antique Georgian letter plates are often quite small and the small version of this letter plate is more akin to the true size. The medium version is more practical for today's post, but please note that even the medium sized letter plate will not take A4 post without it being folded.
The letter plate can be bought on its own or with a matching letter tidy. The letter tidy helps to neaten the inside of the door, so that the opening and fixing bolts are not visible and helps to keep the draught out.
Available in either Antique Black or Argent finishes, this will look really stunning on either natural wood or painted doors.
These high quality British products are made by Kirkpatrick, in the West Midlands. Each piece of ironmongery is crafted, by hand, in their factory over a six week period. Using malleable iron, for it's strength and durability
Antique Black Finish - A stippled and slightly glossy black iron finish, powder coated and stove baked to form a durable and hard wearing finish. To help protect against corrosion we recommend wiping with a lightly oiled cloth from time to time, this will help to remove any harmful deposits. An occasional application of a three-in-one lubricant to moving parts is also advisable.
Argent Finish - A slightly stippled 'naked' silver metal finish which creates subtle highlights in differing lights. Not to be confused with a Pewter finish, this Argent finish is a bare metal finish with a coat of clear lacquer applied for protection. To help protect against corrosion we recommend wiping with a good quality beeswax. An occasional application of a three-in-one lubricant to moving parts is also advisable.
