This Hand Forged Pewter Peardrop Fastener is forged from steel. The skilled craftsmen are able to draw the steel which makes it very tactile, providing a really beautiful piece of furniture.
The fastener is reversible - not handed - so can be fitted to either the left or right hand side of the window. It is also suitable for use on windows with a draught seal. The Hand Forged Pewter Peardrop Fastener comes with a Mortice Plate, for use with windows that have a central mullion. If your windows are flush, you will need to order the separate Hook Plate.
Pewter - forged from a durable base of steel and boast a rich, luxurious appearance. Manufacturing techniques create contrasting textures on the surface of the metal to create a rich appearance with an abundance of charm. This finish sits well in characterful, rustic homes, but also works as a contemporary alternative in more modern settings.
Note - Do not use chemicals or cleaning products as this may affect the finish. Regular oiling of all moving parts using is beneficial to the longevity of your products. This process is also highly recommended during initial installation. An oily cloth can also be used to wipe over the product from time to time to aid protection against exterior or environmental elements.
Supplied with matching fixings. The screws supplied are hand finished, so please take care when fixing. Always use a pilot drill.
