These Large Brass Beehive Door Knobs are a variation on our classic standard beehive, although they have more of a rounded shape to them. Made slightly bigger they will sit very well on large period doors or provide an excellent choice for your Front Door.
These Large Brass Beehive Door Knobs are a faithful reproduction of the classic period design. They are made from solid brass which has then been hand aged to really accentuate the beehive ridges. This authentic period feel is more commonly found in Victorian/Edwardian period properties. They have been made to suit both mortice or rim locks and latches, the roses are loose allowing for one to be removed and the knobs are then secured onto the threaded spindle using a Grub Screw.
The door knobs are Unsprung, so we recommend that you use Heavy Sprung lock or latch. So that you don't catch you hand on the door frame we also recommend that you use a lock or latch which is at least 100mm, to give you a backset of 75mm or more.
We also sell a range ofEscutcheons which complement these door knobs.
