A variation of our original Brass Bloxwich door knobs but on a bigger scale to suit large period doors or to make an impression on your Front Door. These Large Brass Bloxwich Door Knobs have been faithfully reproduced from a classic period design.
The Brass has been lightly aged to accent the reeding and then buffed back to create a highly polished sheen to the flat surfaces. Left unlacquered the brass will age, with time and touch, to develop a natural warm patina.
Although this authentic look is more commonly found in Georgian/Regency period properties, the concentric rings will also suit early to mid 1900s properties too. They are suitable to use with both mortice or rim locks and latches. The roses are loose allowing for one to be removed and the knobs are then secured onto the threaded spindle using a Grub Screw.
The door knobs are Unsprung, so we recommend that you use Heavy Sprung lock or latch. So that you don't catch you hand on the door frame we also recommend that you use a lock or latch which is at least 100mm, to give you a backset of 75mm or more - if your door can accommodate it a 127mm lock case would be the best bet!
We also sell a range of Escutcheons which complement these door knobs.
Sold as a Pair and supplied with matching fixings. Always make a small pilot drill hole and use a manual screw driver to avoid damaging screws and finish.
