A traditional style Large Brass Rim Lock. Cast from solid brass, with quality brass movements inside, this rim lock is a lovely example of a solid, weighty Victorian piece.
Polished Brass - made from solid, unlacquered brass and have soft, golden hues which offer a depth of reflection. This works wonderfully in period dwellings but can also be used to bring a classic twist to contemporary properties. If left untouched, this finish will oxidise over time and naturally age to create a historically beautiful look. To restore these products to their former glory, simply polish using a dry cloth and some Brasso.
Note - An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the product from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. For persistent marks the use of a good quality metal polish can be used. Oiling moving parts during installation and periodically afterwards will help to aid protection against exterior and environmental elements.
Although more commonly found in Victorian period houses, this classic plain design would look right at home in all types of property. The Large Brass Rim Lock is handed so you will need to choose whether you need a RIGHT hand or LEFT hand lock. This rim lock operates with a two lever
mechanism, so is recommended for internal doors only and comes with 2 solid brass keys. If you wish to use it on an external door, you will also need to fit a suitable security lock. This could be a 5 Lever Mortice Deadlock or a high security nightlatch.
Supplied with matching fixings. The screws supplied are hand finished, so please take care when fixing. Always use a pilot drill.
