These Oak St Pauls Door Knobs are a really lovely shape. Based on an original Georgian design and then reproduced so that it will suit a range of period properties and restoration projects.
These door knobs are made from an African Oak, extremely hard wearing with a lovely natural finish. Both the door knob and the rose have been distressed slightly to give a real aged feel, adding to their authenticity. Please note surface markings should be expected.
The rose and collar are Unlacquered Brass as standard, so will continue to age and develop a rich patina with time.
They can be supplied with a Polished Nickel finish, which retain their highly polished appearance and do not tarnish. Please note these are finished to order and the retain the same distressed finish as the brass roses, so the surface is not perfectly smooth and markings in the nickel should be expected.
For use with Mortice or Rim locks and latches and come Unsprung as standard.
So, we recommend using a Heavy Duty or Heavy Sprung lock or latch which is at least 100mm to give a backset of 75mm or more. This is to ensure that the door knob turns properly and returns to the closed position, and that you do not catch your knuckles on the door frame or striker plate.
Supplied with matching fixings. The screws supplied are hand finished, so please take care when fixing. Always use a pilot drill.
