This Shaped Beehive Escutcheon is a beautiful Victorian inspired piece. Available in either Polished Brass or Aged Brass, the intricate detailing of the beehive cover gives it a very tactile feel.
Polished Brass - made from solid, unlacquered brass and have soft, golden hues which offer a depth of reflection. This works wonderfully in period dwellings but can also be used to bring a classic twist to contemporary properties. If left untouched, this finish will oxidise over time and naturally age to create a historically beautiful look. To restore these products to their former glory, simply polish using a dry cloth and some Brasso.
Aged Brass – this finish is intentionally tarnished using an accelerated ageing process that causes a dark patina to gather around the edges and recesses of the design. This rich colour offers a beautiful contrast against the repolished surface areas, offering an abundance of charm and character perfect for any period dwelling. If the finish becomes too dark over time you can restore these products to their former glory, simply polish using a dry cloth and some Brasso.
Note - An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the product from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. Oiling moving parts during installation and periodically afterwards will help to aid protection against exterior and environmental elements.The Shaped Beehive Escutcheon is used to decoratively cover the keyhole and help keep debris and draughts out.
Sold individually - not in pairs and supplied with matching fixings. The screws supplied are hand finished, so please take care when fixing. Always use a pilot drill.
