A traditional style Small Iron Rim Lock. Cast from solid iron, with quality brass movements inside, this rim lock is a lovely example of a solid, weighty Victorian piece.
Cast from solid iron, this finish highlights the texture and natural beauty of the metal. To protect the iron against weather and moisture, this product is given a clear powder coating, which creates a rich depth and subtle sheen.
Note - Do not use chemicals or cleaning products as this may affect the finish. Regular oiling of all moving parts using is beneficial to the longevity of your products. This process is also highly recommended during initial installation. An oily cloth can also be used to wipe over the product or an application of good quality beeswax can be applied from time to time to aid protection against exterior or environmental elements.
Although more commonly found in Victorian period houses, this classic plain design would look right at home in all types of property.The Small Iron Rim Lock is handed so you will need to choose whether you need a RIGHT hand or LEFT hand lock. This rim lock operates with a two lever mechanism, so is recommended for internal doors only and comes with 2 solid brass keys. If you wish to use it on an external door, you will also need to fit a suitable security lock. This could be a 5 Lever Mortice Deadlock or a high security night latch.
Supplied with matching fixings. The screws supplied are hand finished, so please take care when fixing. Always use a pilot drill.
