These Aged Brass Hammered Mushroom Door Knobs are a beautiful example of a very traditional design, forged from solid brass, before being hand hammered by skilled craftsmen. Suitable for both mortice or rim locks and latches.

Aged Brass – this finish is intentionally tarnished using an accelerated ageing process that causes a dark patina to gather around the edges and recesses of the design. This rich colour offers a beautiful contrast against the repolished surface areas, offering an abundance of charm and character perfect for any period dwelling. If the finish becomes too dark over time you can restore these products to their former glory, simply polish using a dry cloth and some Brasso.

Note - An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the product from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. For persistent marks the use of a good quality metal polish can be used. Oiling moving parts during installation and periodically afterwards will help to aid protection against exterior and environmental elements.

These brass mushroom door knobs are Unsprung and have loose roses so that they can be used with both mortice or rim locks and latches. They have an 8mm threaded spindle to enable fine adjustment for various door thicknesses and lock firmly with a Grub Screw, which must locate on the V in the shaft and not on the threaded part of the spindle.

They are supplied with 2 spindle lengths - 120mm for use with rim locks and 100mm for use with mortice locks and latches. For best results we recommend using a Heavy Duty / Heavy Sprung lock or latch, with at least a 100mm lockcase to provide a minimum backset of 75mm. This is to make sure that the door knobs turn properly and return back to their start position. It also helps to make sure that you do not catch you hand on the door frame.

Supplied with dark plated screws. Always use a pilot drill.
